Pandemi

A pandemic is a widespread outbreak of a disease that occurs over a large geographic area, often affecting multiple countries or continents. It typically involves a new infectious disease to which the population has little or no immunity, allowing it to spread rapidly and extensively. The term is commonly associated with infectious diseases, especially those caused by viruses or bacteria, such as influenza, COVID-19, or the plague. The World Health Organization (WHO) and other health authorities monitor and declare a pandemic when certain criteria are met, including the disease’s severity, spread, and impact on society. Pandemics can lead to significant health, social, and economic consequences, prompting governments and organizations to implement measures aimed at controlling the spread and protecting public health.
