Resesjon

Resesjon, or recession, refers to a significant decline in economic activity across the economy that lasts for an extended period, typically visible in various indicators such as GDP, employment, investment, and consumer spending. It is characterized by a decrease in the overall economic output and often leads to higher unemployment rates, reduced income levels, and decreased consumer confidence. A recession is generally recognized when there are two consecutive quarters of negative growth in a country’s gross domestic product (GDP). During a recession, businesses may struggle, leading to layoffs and reduced production, which can further perpetuate the cycle of economic decline. Policymakers may respond to a recession with measures such as lowering interest rates or increasing government spending to stimulate economic growth.
